Christian Vallar

I am an Associate Professor of Public Law, a lawyer, a researcher and director of the master’s programmes in Homeland Security and in Population Health Law and Regulation, and a former member of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Nice Sophia Antipolis. After a DEUG at the University of Rouen and a doctorate in public law in Nice, I practised as a lawyer while teaching, first at the University of Savoie and then at the University of Nice, where I was Vice-President for European Affairs before becoming Dean of its Faculty of Law and Political Science.

I founded the Centre for Studies and Research in Administrative, Constitutional, Financial and Tax Law and took part in founding the French Association for Security and Defence Law. I am also the Defence referent of Université Côte d’Azur (UCA). My main areas of study are defence and intelligence law, national security issues and Islamist terrorism. I am also a colonel in the citizen reserve of the National Gendarmerie.
